Egg Aerogel Particles

Product Description

Egg aerogel particles from Aerogelex are made from real hard-boiled eggs. These particles are similar to silica aerogel particles but with a solid nanostructure made of natural egg proteins that gel when an egg is hard-boiled instead of silica. Egg aerogel particles are great for scientific applications such as for high-surface-area substrates for biological research. Density is approximately 0.6 g/cc, making these egg aerogel particles approximately 50% air by volume. Each vial contains one whole egg worth of particles, approximately 15 cc.

These egg aerogel particles are not edible. Do not eat. Although they are made from real eggs and in principle egg aerogels could be eaten if prepared properly, these aerogels are supercritically dried in industrial equipment that processes chemicals and that is not food-grade making them not edible.
