Airloy® H116 Hydrophobic Non-Flammable Strong Aerogel Tiles

$120.00

Airloy® H116 from Aerogel Technologies is a mechanically durable, dust-free, nonflammable hydrophobic polyimide aerogel formulated to withstand exposure to liquid water. Airloy H116 comes in densities up to 10 times lighter than plastics and is a great alternative to Airloy X103 where higher temperatures are required and/or where water may be present. Unlike most polyimides, Airloy H116 absorbs less than only 15 wt % water when submerged for 24 h and reversibly dries out, yet is halogen-free and dust-free. Does not burn, smoke, or drip upon exposure to flame. Ideal for aviation and automotive applications. Machinable and adherable. Thermally superinsulating with a conductivity between classic silica aerogels and Styrofoam®. Maximum operating temperature ~150°C. Color is yellow. Dimensions are approximately 2.5″ x 3″ x 0.4″ (5 cm x 7.5 cm x 1 cm). Note Airloy H116 will undergo a one-time volume reduction upon exposure to temperatures above about 100°C and so part annealing is suggested prior to use. Made with NASA technology.
